Shakarim Kudaiberdiuly (1858–1931) was a great Kazakh poet, philosopher, historian, composer, and translator. As a disciple and spiritual successor of Abai Qunanbaiuly, he made profound contributions to the enrichment of Kazakh culture and philosophical thought.
Shakarim's literary and philosophical works deeply explore themes of morality, conscience, spirituality, and scientific enlightenment. His historical treatise 'Genealogy of Turks, Kyrgyz, Kazakhs and Khans' remains a landmark text of historical scholarship. In addition, he was a talented musician who composed numerous timeless songs and instrumental pieces.
