Kazakhstan Announces Final Results of First Kurultai Elections Under New Constitution
On August 23, 2026, Kazakhstan held its first legislative election to the new unicameral Kurultai. Official results from the Central Election Commission confirm a landslide victory for the Adilet party with 71.17% of the vote.

On August 23, 2026, Kazakhstan successfully held its parliamentary elections to elect all 145 members of the new unicameral legislature, the Kurultai, under the country's updated Constitution. According to final figures released by the Central Election Commission (CEC), 9,351,539 out of 12,623,289 registered voters cast their ballots, representing a high turnout rate of 74.08%.

Five out of seven contesting political parties crossed the statutory 5% threshold required to gain parliamentary representation:

  • Adilet Party: Secured a decisive landslide victory with 71.17% of the vote (6,528,948 votes) and 110 seats;
  • Auyl People's Democratic Patriotic Party: Won 6.26% of the vote (574,621 votes) and 10 seats;
  • Respublica Party: Garnered 5.56% of the vote (509,631 votes) and 9 seats;
  • Aq Jol Democratic Party: Took 5.21% of the vote (478,083 votes) and 8 seats;
  • Nationwide Social Democratic Party (JSDP): Received 5.11% of the vote (469,058 votes) and 8 seats.

The People's Party of Kazakhstan (3.11%) and the Baytaq Green Party (1.07%) failed to clear the 5% barrier. A total of 2.51% of voters chose the "against all" option.

This landmark vote officially completes Kazakhstan's constitutional transition from the former bicameral Parliament (Mazhilis and Senate) to a single unicameral body. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that following the election, a new Vice President is expected to be appointed within seven to ten days, along with the rollout of the new state consultative institution, the Kazakhstan Khalyk Kenesi.
